08/26/2008 - Thanks Everyone!

The Maxercise In House Tournament this past weekend was a great success, with one of the largest if not the largest tournout from our associations in memory.  Everyone was well represented and the level of this tournament is undoubtedly getting higher every time.  Congratulations to our competitors and winners and we hope to see even more competition next time.

08/04/2008 - Master/Senior Worlds

Gracie Humaita repeats as champions of the International Masters and Seniors. Co-leaders Royler and Rolker Gracie were super happy with the results: "The team performed great. I am tired and lost my voice from yelling encouragement to the team. They deserve everything and all the glory! Our team is so large that it is hard to place the focus on anyone, they are all great " stated Rolker Gracie. "For the sixth consecutive time our team won the title. The team is very united and once again we proved that united we win. Our team came with full force with Saulo, Megaton, Omar, Regis, Wizzard Xavier & Juquinha's teams. Our team is to be commended"

Maxercise sent down four competitors, and incredibly we brought home two golds and two silvers!  Our boys always make it worth the trip!  Brian Rago and John Padova both did us proud, bringing home the golds to Philadelphia in their brown and purple belt divisions, respectively.  John Disimone took home a silver medal, going 1-1 against his fellow brown belts.  Our instructor, Regis Lebre, fought an incredible tournament, going 4-1 in his stacked black belt division, submitting several opponents and only losing in a very tough final.
We are very proud!
Congratulations!!!!

07/20/2008 - Maxbells Bodyweight Cert Results

We had a great turnout at the Maxbells Bodyweight Certification this Sunday.  There was so much information to discuss that we went until nearly 7 o clock.  In the future, we will expand the certification to a two day event to make sure we get even more information in!  Congratulations to our successful new graduates, half of which were already MKC Kettlebell certified!  We're already looking forward to the next one.  Keep checking back for scheduling.

06/16/2008 - BJJ Worlds Results!

As many of you already know, we sent several team members to compete in this year's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championships. As always, Team Maxercise proudly represented our international affiliate, Gracie Humaita. As always, our team mates did an awesome job.

First, our women fought great! We pride ourselves on having one of the best women's teams in the Nation. Our blue belt representatives, Tonya Minninger and Samantha Faulhaber closed out their division, cinching the Gold and Silver medals. Our newest Brown Belt, Jennifer Petrina, fought her first Brown/Black belt division and won the first match against a tough black belt, bringing home the Bronze!

Zak Maxwell, what can you say? Zak went into his division Saturday, winning his first three matches very convincingly, losing his fourth match only by the smallest of points, securing the Bronze! After picking his head up, he got back out on the mat Saturday to compete in the open division. For those not familiar, the open division is open weight, Zak weighs 150 pounds. There were 200+ competitors in the division, Zak went 7-1 for the day, losing a close, close match securing the silver. Although Zak didn't technically take home the gold, everyone in attendance knew Zak was the winner that day! We could not be  more proud of his accomplishments. He definitely shocked the world with his performance!!

All the rest of our guys, Andre, Tim, Brian and Justin all fought fantastic and most of them won matches. We are very proud of your representation of our school and of the world class Jiu Jitsu taught here.

Congratulations to our brothers and sisters from Saulo Ribeiro and Gracie Humaita on their accomplishments this year as well. Xande Ribeiro won his division as well as the open. This is twice for him! Leticia Ribeiro also took home a bronze. Lovato brought home the silver! We are proud to stand along side you guys!

Thank you to all the competitors and to our Head Coach, Regis Lebre for all his hard work and dedication. A special congratulations to Regis for being one of the first recognized BJJ Black Belts here in the United States by the CBJJ!
